whip it up ~ cabin fever coffeehouse art!

good stuff is brewing as this month we experience the heART of worship during two special nights of MSM and our "cabin fever coffeehouse." what could be better on a cold winter's night than swirling water colors into a pile of shaving cream with your friends, to make the most amazing marbled paper designs?! (okay, making shaving cream mustaches and beards was pretty fun too!)

it's soooooooo simple and fun! all you need is shaving cream, food coloring, and paper!

step one. put a one-inch layer of shaving cream on a paper plate or other surface and smooth it over with a cake frosting spatula or plastic knife...

step two. drop water-based food coloring (not gel, not acrylic) on the surface of your shaving cream. we used liquid candle colorants, but ordinary food colors work just as well. then use a stick of some sort (chopstick, toothpick, coffee stirrer, etc.) to swirl your water colors into the shaving cream...

step three. gently press a piece of paper on top of your shaving cream design. then after peeling away the paper, use a flat edge to scrape away the shaving cream and reveal your most amazing marbled paper design...
